Sage!!!!!!!!!!

Sage is an Eskie rescue dog and she is a charmer. She is smart and a real sweetheart. Quite the princess, she does want center stage however and doesn't quite like sharing with other dogs. Thanks to Joanne Compton the gal who specializes in Eskie rescues I got some great behavioral hints to help Sage share. Joanne suggested that I give Sage treats at the same time she is sharing her space with another dog to let her know that sharing brings rewards. How smart is that! No wonder Joanne is so successful at helping dogs like Sage and her brother, Rocky. It was a small hint with big results. Sage is a smart girl who began to learn quickly that sharing her throne brought good tastes. Granted we might have to revisit this lesson more than once, but I think we will get better with each morsel of food.

Not only is Sage a great dog that I enjoy having but she is teaching me by her presence. Thankfully Joanne is also adding to the learning curve!

If you are as taken by the beauty of the breed as I am, then by all means you should consider an Eskie rescue. You can contact Joanne via her website The Eskie Connection at:
In addition, Joanne does teach basic obedience dog classes at the Mt Prospect Park District. Contact her via her website to register for her classes.
