Animal House
The Bite
Done fraternizing with shabby sweater sets and tattered towels? Go on a closet-cleaning binge by donating to the local, no-kill shelter PAWS - the first of its kind in Chicago. Just drop off old sweaters, rugs, and towels (just about any condition will do), and the shelter will use them as bedding for its cats and dogs or for cleaning up - a way better option than contributing to the average 68 pounds of clothing Americans toss each year. The staff's up for sharing rescue stories and volunteer ops, plus introducing you to the animals, pressure-free (do prepare to melt a few times, though). Wild.
